Ambrose Slade Skinhead Alton Towers Poster

Superb Alton Towers Poster (15"x 20") for a Concert by Scottish Band Marmalade with support from Ambrose Slade. Ambrose Slade were previously known as The In-Be-Tweens & had plied their trade mostly in & around Birmingham. After changing their name to Ambrose Slade in early '69, the Band were spotted by Chas Chandler at a Gig in London & he took them on, the Band quickly undergoing a radical change in image, adopting the Skinhead look to capitalise on the current trend (they would have performed in this mode at the Alton Towers Gig). The Band later dropped both the Skinhead look & "Ambrose" from the Band name but it was another 2 years before they hit the charts as Slade !
