Rolling Stones Jazz Blues Fest Flyer 1964
A rare original double-sided Flyer (5 1/2"x 8") for the 4th National Jazz Blues Festival (Richmond) 1964, the Friday (7th Aug) headlined by The Rolling Stones. Though still featuring a preponderance of Jazz acts, the Festival also saw appearances by The Yardbirds, Graham Bond, Manfred Mann, Georgie Fame etc. The Stones were smuggled into the venue Fri night in a newspaper delivery van, minus Brian Jones (in the melee leaving central London, Jones got left behind & he took a lift from Eric Easton lying on the floor of the car so as not to be recognised by fans). The Stones closed the Fri night session in front of 7,000 fans. On the Sunday both the Yardbirds & Graham Bond played one after the other, thus bringing future Cream members Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce & Ginger Baker onto the stage together for probably the first time. An early piece of Stones memorabilia & being in Richmond it was the Stones old stamping ground, the band having started at the Crawdaddy Club there. The Flyer has minor annotation to the front cover & a few neat ticks & crosses against artists names to the reverse (image available on request). NB. we are also selling a ticket for this event too.
