Gene Vincent Torquay Gig Poster 1963

A rare Poster (20"x 30") for Gene Vincent to play Torquay on 7th June 1963. A lovely piece of RnR History. Gene Vincent became semi-resident in the UK & was prolific on the live circuit. His somewhat wayward behaviour caused Don Arden to appoint Peter Grant (later Manager of Led Zep) as his "minder". Being an ex-Wrestler, Peter Grant had few problems controlling Vincent (he use to put him in a headlock & wack his head with his spare fist !). This Poster has obvious signs of wear & some paper loss. There are Conservation repairs to the reverse. However, the Poster has been priced with condition in mind (Christies sold a similar Poster but in better condition, for £375 in Nov 2011). This item is Guaranteed to be original & is sold with Provenance from the original Promoter
