Friars Adam Ant Aylesbury Gig Poster 1980

Original Adam & The Ants silkscreen concert poster (20"x 30") for a gig at Friars, Aylesbury, 22nd Nov 1980.

A fantastic booking by Friars as just a week before the Adam & The Ants LP "Kings of the Wild Frontier" went to #1 in the album charts. The gig featured the single "Antmusic" which was also to climb to #2 in the singles charts in early Dec, so Adam & the Ants were the hottest band around at the time. Support was provided by Coventry art-rock band, God's Toys.

For the uninitiated, Friars was a legendary music club in Aylesbury, active 1969-84. Posters/flyers from this venue have a common distinctive design & are very collectable (many more already listed on this website). Poster unfolded, with minor marks to corners & tiny hole under the "S" of "GOD'S" & overall in very good condition.
