Boomtown Rats Putzu Artwork 1979

Original painted artwork (15"x 20 3/4") by the cinema poster artist Arnaldo Putzu of the Boomtown Rats for the front cover of "Look-in" fom 5th May 1979.

Putzu provided front cover illustrations for "Look-in" for many years (the magazine ran 1971-94). Here he captures Bob Geldof at his shaggy-haired best. The Boomtown Rats achieved number one hits with "Rat Trap" in Oct 1978 and "I Don't Like Mondays" in July 1979. Putzu is best remembered for his cinema posters for "Get Carter", "The Getaway" (rr), "The Thomas Crown Affair", "Way Of The Dragon", "The Railway Children", "Steptoe", various Carry On's & many more (for further examples see https://www.moviepostermem.com/). The artwork is sold with an original copy of the printed magazine.

Artwork consists of a pencil outline and acrylic paint laid to artboard, with some "foxing" to the upper left.
