Richmond National Jazz Festival 1961-62

Five important pieces of original documentation pertaining to the first & second Richmond National Jazz Festivals (the forerunner of the National Jazz, Blues & Rock Festivals & later the Reading Rock Festival).

Dating from Nov 1961 to Feb 1962, these pieces include, letters from Richmond Athletic Association to Harold Pendleton (Festival organiser) asking for payment relating to the '61 Festival & negotiating dates for the '62 Festival & various responses from Pendleton concerning said future dates & negotiating the charges. A fascinating little collection with some historical importance. Acts appearing at the Festivals were mostly Trad Jazz outfits, including Chris Barber, Terry Lightfoot, Ken Colyer, Otillie Paterson, Johnny Dankworth etc.
