Elton John Rainbow Jubilee Concert Poster 1977

Rare Elton John-Ray Cooper poster related to their six-night residency at the Rainbow Theatre, London, 2nd-7th May 1977.

This residency initiative was aimed at getting back to a more stripped down & intimate form of live show. This unusually shaped gig poster features the two performers with a series of surrounding crown images. The significance of this was that the first night of the residency (2nd May) was a a charity benefit concert for the Queen's Silver Jubilee Fund held in the presence of Princess Alexandra. It is likely that these "crown" motif posters were used for the "Jubilee" concert only.

Poster with several folds/creases but otherwise in very good condition. This poster is rarely seen in the market.
