Geno Newbury Ricky Tick Gig Poster 1967

Original Ricky Tick silkscreen poster (20"x 30") for Geno Washington & the Ram Jam Band at the Plaza Newbury on 21st May 1967.

In typical Ricky-Tick style, the primitive silkscreen graphics borrow from notable contemporary figures from popular culture, in this case using the "MAD" magazine figurehead. Interesting reference to the "definite appearance of...": on the 60's gig circuit, bands travelled great distances on poor roads in unreliable mini-buses etc & in such conditions, "no shows" occasionally occurred. This poster maybe references either a previous cancellation by Geno or possibly the failure of the previous act to appear at the last Plaza gig?

Poster unfolded with minor creasing. Overall in very good condition.
