Georgie Fame Locarno Gig Poster 1965

Original Georgie Fame & The Blue Flames concert poster (20"x 30") for a gig at the Swindon Locarno 4th March 1965.

An interesting poster design with the colourful rim motif that characterised posters from this venue. As a jazz-Blues musician, Fame provided a bridge between the Jazz orientated scene of the 1950's & the emergent RnB sound of the early 60's. His musicianship was widely respected & he was a stalwart of the Flamingo Club in London. Fame was supported by British Beat group Tony Rivers & The Castaways (it is Londoner Rivers voice on the West Ham United FC 1975 release of "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles"). Rivers later formed the 60's pop group Harmony Grass.

Poster unfolded & in excellent condition.
