Hackensack Suerrey Uni Gig Poster 1972
Original silkscreen gig poster (20"x30") for Hackensack to play at the University of Surrey, Guildford, 6th Oct 1972, support provided by the Roy Young band.
The poster has the feel of a
"Ricky Tick" club (1962-67) poster. Ricky Tick gigs were promoted with primitive silk-screen posters such as this, often decorated with images of American Bluesmen, Politicians, Superheroes & Celebrities (the American comic
Phil Silvers being a favourite subject as here). Originally the posters were homemade but later Impact Printing of Windsor supplied them (Windsor was the original home of the Ricky-Tick Club).
Hackensack vocalist Nicky Moore was later in Tiger & Samson.Poster rolled
in excellent condition.
A fab addition to any Ricky-Tick collection.
