Jimi Hendrix South Shields Gig Ticket 1967

An original & rare Jimi Hendrix card concert ticket (3"x 5") for the New Cellar Club, South Shields, 1st Feb 1967.

Apparently Jimi & the band arrived late. They were to perform on a revolving stage but while tuning up backstage Jimi blew his amp & took Noel's. Noel had to scrounge an inferior amp from a support band. Nonetheless the band were well received & at the end, as the stage began to revolve, the more enthusiastic members of the audience tried to grab the band resulting in them nearly being crushed against the side wall!

The ticket has been folded. To the reverse of the ticket is a 1968 receipt from Spooky Tooth & the penned number "229".
