Lennon Oh Calcutta Prog and Ticket 1970

Original programme & ticket from the debut UK run of the controversial stage revue "Oh Calcutta" presented at The Roundhouse, this for a performance on 14th Aug 1970.

Masterminded by Ken Tynan, "Oh Calcutta!" challenged the sexual mores of the time. Beatle, John Lennon was among a number of contributors (also including Joe Orton & Johnny Dankworth). Lennon's particular piece was entitled "Four In Hand", a sketch about masturbation & he is credited twice in the programme. Included in the sale are a large number of contemporary newspaper cuttings that highlight the radical impact this stage production had , it's boundary pushing irreverent ethos mirroring the counter-culture mood of the times.

A really unusual & interesting piece of John Lennon memorabilia.
