Kid Creole Friars Aylesburt Gig Poster 1982

Original Kid Creole & The Coconuts silkscreen concert poster (20"x 30") for a gig at Friars, Aylesbury, 5th Oct 1982.

"From New York City", Kid Creole & The Coconuts offered the Friars faithfull an exuberant set of Latin infused disco. The band were at the height of their popularity at the time of this gig, their singles "I'm A Wonderful Thing Baby" & "Stool Pigeon" both going "Top 10" earlier in the year, the LP "Tropical Gangsters" climbing to #3 in May '82 & their latest single, "Annie I'm Not Your Daddy" hitting #2 in the UK charts just four dauys after this gig.

For the uninitiated, Friars was a legendary music club in Aylesbury, active 1969-84. Posters/flyers from this venue have a common distinctive design & are very collectable (many more already listed on this website).
