Marillion Damned Aylesbury Roxette Friars 1976
A rare Aylesbury Roxette 8-page magazine from Nov 1976 (edition #4). This was a free music fanzine that focused on the Aylesbury/Friars music scene. Given that the editorial team included the likes of Kris Needs & Pete Frame, this was a high quality & informed production. The front cover shows local band Orthi (including future Marillion member Pete Trewavas). However, most interesting are the earliest signs of the emergence of punk with an article/pic inside about Eddie & The Hot Rods, plus a small ad for a gig by The Damned in Leighton Buzzard. There is also a 1/2-page ad for future Friars gigs including The Flamin' Groovies (plus Renaissance & Sailor). A great piece of punk memorabilia from one of the UK's most thriving & innovative contemporary music locales
