Original Pauline Murray & The Invisible Girls silkscreen concert poster (20"x 30") for a gig at Friars, Aylesbury, 11th Oct 1980.

Pauline Murray first came to prominence as the lead singer in Punk band Penetration but this Friars gig took place shortly after she went solo. The Invisble Girls were originally John Cooper Clarke's backing band (forming in 1978) but also worked with Pauline Murray on her debut solo LP & tour. Future Joy Division producer Martin Hannett was a member of the Invisible Girls & played at this gig. In addition to support from Punk poet John Cooper Clarke was the local Aylesbury band, The Disco Students, headed by Simon Cheetham. A poster with bags of interest.

For the uninitiated, Friars was a legendary music club in Aylesbury, active 1969-84. Posters/flyers from this venue have a common distinctive design & are very collectable (many more already listed on this website). Poster unfolded, rolled with a few light stain marks to right rim but presents to excellent effect as shown.
