Yorkshire Festival Pink Floyd Elton Progamme 1970

Original 32-page programme for the Yorkshire Folk, Blues & Jazz festival, 14th-16th Aug 1970, at Krumlin in the Pennines.

This infamous Festival was an exemplar of poor planning leading to chaos & mayhem when a storm blew in & standed kids & hippies had to be rescued, many suffering exposure. Like similar events, supposed attending acts were publicised in advance, including in this programme The Who & Pink Floyd. Neither turned up but to be fair there had been some negotiations with Pink Floyd. Among those who did get to play were Fairport Convention & a relatively unknown Elton John (he passed around a bottle of whisky to those freezing at the front of the stage!).

A very entertaining book "Pink Floyd Are Fogbound In Paris: The Story of The 1970 Krumlin Festival" has been published (this shown for reference & NOT for sale). The back cover of the programme shows a local girl whose Mum got very upset about her risque pose, the resulting publicity seeing the programmes quickly being sold out!

A great piece of British music Festival memorabilia & an unusual early Pink Floyd/Elton John item. This programme is rarely seen in the market.

Programme with light scuffing/marks but lucky to have survived the deluge!
