Rockpile Edmunds Lowe Lancaster Poster 1980

Rockpile with Dave Edmunds & Nick Lowe silkscreen concert poster (20"x 30") for a gig at Lancaster University, 8th Feb 1980.

The really distinctive poster design here is by artist, John Angus. Angus illustrated posters for gigs at the flourishing music venue at Lancaster University, his posters now being much sought after. Having an effectively "captive" audience on campus, concerts such as this didn't need to be widely promoted & consequently print runs were modest only.

Dave Edmunds was a leading light in the Welsh music scene & in Love Sculpture. Both he & Nick Lowe later had success as music producers, Lowe previously also being a member of Kippington Lodge & Brinsley Schwarz. Bags of 60's, Pub-Rock, Punk-New Wave interest here.

Poster unfolded with creasing particularly to lower rim but a great poster nonetheless.
