Early Status Quo Bath Gig Poster 1966

Original silkscreen concert poster (20"x 28 1/4") showing the 1966 Christmas programme (23rd-31st Dec) at the Regency Ballroom, Bath.

The poster presents a variety of acts & of special note is The Spectres who comprised Francis Rossi, Rick Parfitt, John Coghlan, Alan Lancaster & Rod Lynes. Eleven months after this gig, The Spectres became Status Quo. The Marmalades were an early incarnation of Marmalade & The Undertakers were a stalwart of the earlier Merseybeat scene.

The poster has obvious wear (two large conservation tape repairs to foldline splits to the reverse) but represents a really interesting snapshot of second tier British Beat bands in the mid-60's, some who faded & never made it & others who would find national & international stardom. A really interesting early Status Quo piece of memorabilia too!
