The WHO Concert Poster 1974

Original concert poster (29"x 38 1/2") for the WHO at Charlton FC, 18th May 1974 with a support line-up including the likes of Lou Reed, Humble Pie, Bad Company etc.

This open air gig was attended by 50,000 & witnessed a blistering set from the Who including classic 60's Mod favourites, tracks from Quadrophenia & other rock classics. The highly distinctive poster design was by (John) KOSH (see: https://koshdesign.com/posters/). KOSH was a key figure in the music industry, providing album artwork for the Likes of The Beatles, The Eagles, ELO etc as well as concert posters like this Pop-Art influenced design too.

This is a rare poster & not to be mistaken for the second Who concert at Charlton FC on 31st May 1976. This second gig was part of a mini "Who Put The Boot In" Tour of UK football stadiums (Charlton, Celtic, Swansea) & posters from this '76 Tour are relatively common (see image for reference) ie, the-saleroom have seven '76 posters sold since 2014 but only a single '74 one & this only a b/w version (see attached for comparison). If interested we currently have this rare 1971 Who poster also: https://www.rockpopmem.com/The-Who-The-Who-Rainbow-Concert-Poster-1971/71778.htm
