Yardbirds Clapton Hull Gig Contract 1964

An original Yardbirds gig contract to play the Majestic Ballroom, Hull on 26th Nov 1964, the contract signed by the Yardbirds manager Giorgio Gomelsky.

This is a great memento from the early days of the British R&B scene, The Yardbirds being one of the foremost practicioners & this contract dating from the Clapton era in the band (he left in Apr '65 to join John Mayall's Bluesbreakers). Gomelsky was responsible for establishing the Station Road Blues club in Richmond, The Rolling Stones being the first band to have a residency. Gomelsky effectively managed the Stones in the very early days before being ousted by Andrew Loog Oldham in '63. After the Stones, Gomelsky managed the Yarbdirds, became a record producer & started his own record label (Marmalade).

We currently have a 1965 Yardbirds contract (Jeff Beck era) also for sale: http://www.rockpopmem.com/The-Yardbirds-Yardbirds-BBC-Contract-1965/61449.htm
