David Roe Psych Era Jukebox Poster 1968
Fabulous David Roe jukebox "poster" design (19 1/2"x 29") entitled "Polyscope" (c' 1968)David Roe was one of the leading lights of poster design in the late 60's-early 70's, his work often borrowing from the earlier art-deco period, as here.
Roe later designed the iconic "Drummer Boy" poster for the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival (image shown for reference) starring
Jimi Hendrix & The Who. Printed on thin paper stock ("a polypops paper") it is possible that although poster sized, this item was printed for use as wrapping paper. Irrespective,
due to the very thin nature of the paper, few intact examples are likely to have survived.Poster unfolded with a single faint horizontal crease, minor edge nicks/creasing & overall
in excellent condition & would frame to wonderful effect. An evocative piece of late 1960's memorabilia.
