A 24-page East Village Other counter-culture magazine Vol 5 #23 from 5th May 1970.The East Village Other (also known as
EVO) was one of the first New York underground magazines, highly irreverent with lots of artwork illustrations, cartoon features etc.
This particular magazine includes a full page ad for the brilliant
Ike & Tina Turner cover of The Beatles "Come Together", plus a back cover devoted to a satellite broadcast of
"Music Festival '70" from London on 10th May lisiting acts such as
The Beatles, Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Dusty Springfield etc (this "festival" appears to have been footage of the Ivor Novello Awards at the Talk of The Town, London!).
