LA Free Press Lennon Who Clockwork 1971

A 40-page Los Angeles Free Press magazine Vol 8 #52 dating from 24th Dec 1971, including a full-page ad for the John Lennon single "Happy Xmas", a fabulous "Clockwork Orange" ad showing Kubrick filming a scene, a Pete Townshend interview & various other gig/film ads etc.

The Los Angeles Free Press was founded by Art Kunkin in 1964 & he remained with the paper to 1973. The paper was regarded as the first & largest of the counter-culture publications that flourished in the late 1960's-early 70's in the US & UK. It was known for the radical politics, championing individual freedoms & of course its anti-Vietnam War stance. Apart from the political tracts these papers often included adult cartoon strips, lots of music content (reviews/interviews/record & gig adverts etc), film articles & various pages of sex industry adverts etc.

Magazine with light creasing/wear.

NB. If bought alone, UK buyers will have £6 of the standard £12 P&P charge refunded.
