Prior to becoming one of the biggest stars of the early 1970's, David Essex was a jobbing singer in the 1960's, here fronting the little-known Stevenage band, Mood Indigo. Between 1973-75, Essex enjoyed six Top 10 hits including two # 1's with "Gonna Make You A Star" & "Hold Me Close".
