Georgie Fame Hounslow Ricky Tick Poster 1967

Original Ricky-Tick poster (20"x 30") for a Georgie Fame gig in Hounslow, 29th July 1967.

Georgie Fame was a massively important influence on the spread of black music & the emergence of a Brtish R&B scene in the 1960's. With his multi-racial band Georgie Fame & The Blue Flames, Fame showcased a blend of Jazz, Soul & R&B that inspired audiences & fellow musicians alike. Georgie Fame is the only British act whose only Top 10 hits all went to #1: "Yeh Yeh" in 1964, "Get Away" in 1966 & "The Ballad of Bonnie & Clyde" in 1967.

The Ricky-Tick circuit provided much needed venues in the South-East for visiting black US artists & homegrown British R&B talent. Ricky-Tick silkscreen posters are known for their primitive but striking graphics & this is an excellent example.

Poster with residue of old posters to the reverse & a conservation repair to a "horseshoe" shaped tear to the upper but a fabulous little piece of British 1960's R&B memorabilia!
