Lennon Bagism Oh Calcutta 1969-70

Two interesting pieces of John Lennon memorabilia, these being an original Lennon & Yoko Ono "Bagism" publicity card (3 1/2"x 5 1/2") from 1969 & a programme for the debut run of the controversial theatre production of "Oh! Calcutta!" (1969).

John & Yoko invented "Bagism" as a protest against the judging of people by their looks. By clothing themselves in a "bag" the point was made. The first airing of this was at the Sacher Hotel, Vienna in March 1969. The reverse of the publicity card carries the formula "Love + Peace = Bagism". The front shows John & Yoko in front of the Eiffel Tower, Paris.

Lennon contributed to the revue "Oh! Calcutta! (1970) but elected for the briefest biography in the programme, this being just two lines long. For those easily offended, this programme contains full frontal nudity.
