Original Peter Gabriel silkscreen concert poster (20"x 30") for a gig at Friars, Aylesbury, 30th Aug 1979.

Billed as "The Great Homecoming", this was Gabriel's first return to Friars after departing Genesis in 1975. The Gabriel era Genesis were regular performers at Friars during their formative & breakthrough years 1970-73, playing Friars venues in Aylesbury, Princes Risborough, Dunstable, Bedford & Watford no less than eleven times during these three years (other acts who honed their early careers at Friars included David Bowie, Mott the Hoople & Aylesbury's own Otway & Barrett).

For the uninitiated, Friars was a legendary music club in Aylesbury, active 1969-84. Posters/flyers from this venue have a common distinctive design & are very collectable (many more already listed on this website). Poster unfolded, rolled with rim wear including small areas of paper loss & several conservation tape repairs to the reverse.
