Pop Group This Heat Collegiate Gig Poster 1978

Original concert poster (20"x 30" max) for the Pop Group & this Heat for "An Explosion In The Heart Of The Commodity" concert at the Collegiate Theatre, London, 30th June 1978.

This duo offered a brand of radical, unorthodox post-punk rock. The poster design clearly harks back to the DIY ethos of Punk & is clearly influenced by Jamie Reid's Sex Pistols graphics. This poster design has been reproduced & sold as an arty print (without gig details) but the example here is the "real McCoy".

Poster with some paper loss & a lot of obvious wear & tear (various stabilisiing conservation tape repairs to the reverse) but a good candidate for backing & restoration if desired. Irrespective of condition, this is a rare item & possibly the only such gig poster to have survived. A fabulous piece of edgy post-punk British memorabilia.
