Windsor Ricky Tick Gig Poster 1965-66

Original concert poster (20"x 30"), this a generic poster promoting Sunday gigs at the Ricky Tick (RT) Club Windsor c' 1965-66.

The RT was a club that promoted gigs around the South of England in the mid/late 1960's. They were particularly well-known for their distinctive homemade silkscreen posters (like this) & their sponsorship of American Blues artists (often backed by British Beat groups). The Rolling Stones were one group who benefitted from "cutting their teeth" on the RRT circuit in their early days (Geno Washington, The Yardbirds & Zoot Money were other regulars).

This poster is interesting, being relatively early c' 1965-66, being from the home of the RT, Windsor & for the graphics too. The poster depicts a Rocker, though Soul & Mod acts frequently appeared at RT venues. The primitive design also incorporates some Mod symbolism (poster on the wall) & name-checks another RT regular, Zoot Money.

Poster unfolded with some creasing but an interesting addition to any RT collection. NB For more info on the Ricky Tick, please see: https://www.rickytick.com/
