Geno LBJ Southampton Ricky Tick Poster 1967

Original Ricky Tick silkscreen poster (20"x 30") for Geno Washington & The Ram Jam Band at the Guildhall Southampton on 5th May 1967.

Although Ricky-Tick posters tended to use caricature figures from contemporary popular culture, occasionally illustrations of American Bluesmen were used & even figures from politics (ie, Harold Wilson). In this case, however, the US President, "LBJ" (aka Lyndon B. Johnson) is shown (with the Vietnam War raging, this character was centre-stage in popular consciousness).

Poster unfolded with fraying to right rim.
